I don't know what David's plans are for the PIC18 version of Firewing, but right now it supports 4 or 5 chips, and if too many more were added then it would sort of negate the need for the Swordfish product.

Perhaps a "Swordfish toolsuite" could be added... then folks who have purchased Swordfish could use Firewing with any of the chips. The main problem I see with that is the libraries, since PIC18 chips need about 10 different library variants to support the different devices, and there's no way to get a simple hardware platform to support all the permutations.

I have a (BETA) toolsuite for Swordfish if anyone would be interested in testing? I also have toolsuites for microEngineering Labs PBP and PROTON (PDS), again, if anyone would like to test?

I'd be interested, too.

Do you have a device file generator for the P18, or did you just do those by hand? If you have one, it'd be nice to get the source for that like you did for the 16/32 ones.

You can download the Swordfish toolsuite from here

http://www.firewing.info/pmwiki.php?n=FirewingUser.SwordfishToolsuite

The page also contains a link to some auto-generated device files, ready for you to use

http://www.firewing.info/user-uploads/FirewingUser/SwordfishToolsuite/NewInclude.zip

or you can generate your own using the sysgen 08 application

http://www.firewing.info/pmwiki.php?n=FirewingUser.SystemGenerator

Any feedback using the Swordfish toolsuite would be very useful...
