Firewing Beta Release

David,

Fantastic news, I was just contemplating a new audio synthesis project, so I'll give the beta a whirl.
Do you have any release dates for the hardware, and where they will be obtainable.

A number of prototype boards have been built and tested in house. I've also just sent out a number of boards for further testing. I wouldn't like to give an exact date for release, but it's likely to be sooner rather than later. Which boards are you interested in? Or is it just a mainboard? Are you based in the UK?

Hi David,

I was interested in the main board and a prototyping board. I am happy to pay. Is it possible to PM you through the forum with my details.

Re Firewing - Just been studying the manual and playing today, but I presume it will eventually be possible to compile, run and debug from within MPLAB, since I use all the Mchip tools eg ICD3 Pickit 2 and 3. Does the compiler produce a COFF file? I can't see anything in the manual about it.

Thanks

Roger

There is a standalone Firewing executable supplied with the IDE, which you should be able to integrate into MPLAB - in a similar way you would Swordfish:

Firewing can also generate a COFF file. Early in development, I had Firewing simulating happily in MPLAB, but please note this is something a won't be supporting initially as I don't currently have the resources to do so. However, if you get it all up and running, please do post your findings. If you get stuck let me know and I will help as best I can, time permitting.

Thanks for the information, I will have a go and post the results.

I forgot to mention that I am in the UK.

I have one or two early prototype boards available - I'm actually looking for people to help out writing some code, libraries, articles, projects - anything along that line actually. If it is something you might be able to help with, drop me an email with an outline of what you have in mind.
