Firewing reserved pin names?

Postby jmusselman64 » Thu Nov 30, 2017 4:05 pm

I'd like to use the Firewing compiler on a project that doesn't use the Firewing board.
Do I need to re-write libraries (LCD and ADC as examples) ? They seem to be written with pin name aliases that refer to Firewing board pins (_D0, _D1, A1, etc)
I can't find and info on these pin names.

Thanks,
Jerry

Hi,

I did a pdf
Pinout Shields Firewing-compressed.zip
Firewing pinout
(73.15 KiB) Downloaded 943 times
where I put the pins of the different version (FW18/FW24/FW32) with the names of the ports and the connection used in different shields ( but there not the LCD :| )

This I had done from the wiring diagrams that you find for each board here http://www.firewing.info/pmwiki.php?n=Firewing.MainBoard
Is always better check before you ruin something.. :o
Let me know if you find any problem or strangeness

The pin name aliases are defined in the file firewing\library\sys.imports\sysfirewing.bas

OK..I checked the 'sysfirewing' file and found the aliases. It's probably easier for me to make copies of the LCD and ADC libraries and change the few instances of port pin names, thus eliminating the problem.
Thanks for the help!

I think I know the answer anyway but thought I'd check anyway..
So.. is there any way to change the 'target' option to something other than Firewing R1 or R2?, thus eliminating the use of the pre-define pin aliases?

I'm not using a Firewing board, and as I see it (if I want to use the canned libraries) I need to edit the 'sysfirewing' file to bypass the alias definitions.
