Very off topic .. NOT SWITCH TO Netduino

Hi at all,
I am driven by a colleague I tried to buy a Netduino 3 Ethernet.
I am very regretted
Buy Ntduino 3 eth version and then you discover that :
- any source ETH maximum work with Netduino 2 Plus and framework 4.3.2
- but this version MUST mount a 4.3.3 framework
- the eth chip mounted is unique and all the examples you can throw them
- works only in static IP address and DHCP is not scheduled :o ... so  .. but DNS instead .. also :(
- any grievance in the forum is first approved by the administrator and are two weeks, I moan but not appear post and even the answer :(
- all of them are waiting for the 4.4.0 framework and no one answers
- are told that supports VB.NET :D .. shame that version 3.2.2 (or 3.2.3 which is the same) if you compile in basic VS2015 get the error "Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll" is missing  ... someone has disabled it in compilation on this release and they are still looking for the bad guy

DO NOT BUY Netduino .. IS A NIGHTMARE !!

Of course I take responsibility for what I say .. censored here too but I have not found a place where I can write what I felt on my skin

I forgot .. WiFi should go .. and return back also address ... with DHCP.. accidents .. least here works

I've tried similar items in the past with mixed results. Some (not all) "duino" software can be very user unfriendly sometimes. For better or worse, people seem to put up with it because it's open, free and has "duino" in the name. Which is always best, isn't it ;-)

Hi David,
ok it is open source (.. it says ;) )
After a month of tests I have concluded that there is no sure way to get a result working on the first try :( .
Sometimes you have to import an MS library, sometimes that of the board and 99 percent of the time you have to try both and maybe do not work either! :x
The result is that I was able to run eth with chips wiznet and was not able to operate the chip mounted on the board with the libraries of the manufacturer
Because all this will be made available ONLY for an SDK (manufacturer library) version of NETMF 4.4 (launched in October 2015).
If we consider that the SDK (manufacturer library) version NETMF 4.3 (launched in December 2014) have made available in May 2015 ..
we can say that my beautiful card will work great for July 2016
I thought to make it work under a Christmas tree that has become a beach umbrella 8-) ( .. balls remain unchanged )

Hi at all,

I did not remember having expressed my complaints in this forum and then I want to update the state of the art.

I bought the board "Netduino 3 ethernet" in September of 2015 and to date despite Mr. Chris Walker continues to sell both Eth version and WiFi version of this board (30 USD) has not done more to hear even on the blog from which disappeared at the end of September 2015 ... mine was a good timing.
But as time and (his) watches are not the strong point of this gentleman :D .

So the update is NOT BUY Netduino !!

Thanks for the heads up. I was actually considering doing this.

Hi,
in fact I had not updated the situation yet ..meanwhile

1) Mr Netduino after experiencing in voluntary contributions to the construction of a wristwatch in NETMS (never realized) has disappeared from everyone's eyesight in October 2015.
2) now his site is oathed to third parties who support the TinyCLR project not NETMF (is dead with 4.3.2)
3) MS no longer supports the NETMF project so 4.4 has never been officially distributed
4) everything has been down to 4.3 (June 2016)
5) only one builder (US) who have gone to TinyCLR project that does not currently support ETH, CAN and PWM peripherals, so for now you can then turn many leds on and off by pressing many buttons  all with 30$ (buttons and leds are excluded).

Then producing something with NETMF / TiniCLR is a dilemma  , one has no future while the other will ever be completed? (Last updated TiniCLR is in July 2017)

I have done my experience in this matter.
With the best HW NETMF on the market( for speed and capacity ) nobody just matches a compiled native code.
If you have space problems, go to the PIC24 .. i'm doing the PIC32, I still have enough to convert what I have done with Swordfish and PIC18 but the passage is good and it is not as difficult as I thought :D

PS: the ethernet library for N3 ( '2013 unknown chip AX88796CLF) has never made .. so the RJ45 connector has remained unused (and oxidized :x )
PS2 : no NETDUINO 2/3 costs 59$ so buying it 2 years ago I even bought it at half price .. amazing :D
